Typical Airport Departure Stresses

Ah the day has finally arrived for me to leave on my travels to Australia and Vietnam! Kicked off the holiday-ness with a lovely good-bye pizza party with my favourite chums and a night at the good old Wivenhovian Station pub with my numero uno Rachael ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉ

The day of departure started withย lunch at the Black Buoy with my mum, brother and sis-in-law & said my goodbyes to Will, Rach and all my other favourite people.

Obviously mum set off the waterworks when we said goodbye, thank god for the good idea of not wearing make up to travel in – nooooo thank you to puffy panda eyes! Minute of tears then off we set with Krispy Kreme Nutella doughnuts (my summer body was clearly coming along so well… ๐Ÿ™„) Arrive at the airport, begin to check in when I was informed by the check in man, Noah, that I hadn’t brought a visa for Australia, guess what absolute #*@k didn’t realise she needed one ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผ Thank god Alli and Josh were with me otherwise I would have jumped over the desk & throttled the guy when he said “I’m so sorry you’re going to have to go home……to Australia” NOT FUNNY WHEN I NEARLY PANIC ATTACKED MELT DOWN’D on him. But all sorted, ยฃ40 later (๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ˜ค), said my very last goodbyes and off through security I went.

DUTY FREE TIME!!!! There is so much choice at duty free, make up, sunglasses, perfume, chocolate, alcohol – the list is endless! I went with the idea that I’ll save the most of my allocated “duty free” money for Sephora in Sydney ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ Airport Wagamama was delightful as always! Tofu & Vegetable Yasai Itame with Bang Bang Cauliflower – yum yummers!!

Sat next to a lovely old Australian lady on the with plane and luckily had the middle seat in between us unoccupied so lots of lovely extra room and leg room for a long haul flight! I don’t really remember much of the first leg of the flight to Singapore so I think I slept for the majority of it ๐Ÿ˜‚ Arrived in Singapore and headed up to the Cactus Roof Garden to be greeted with hot tropical sweaty Singapore air but the garden was lovely, which I am now realising I had forgotten to take a photograph of it ๐Ÿ˜’ Had a quick FaceTime with mum who was typically ooooh-ing and ahh-ing about me being a bijillion miles away from home and how proud she was of me, bless her! A quick layover and off on my final flight to Sydney! Which I couldn’t sleep on as I was so excited about nearly being there! Watched Split – pretty good but had higher expectations, Loving – absolutely brilliant and insightful film, definitely recommend for those who need a bit of history in the African-American treatment, it baffled me how they were treated only 50-60 years ago! And of course watched Moana!! Will had brought me the Pua toy as he knew how much I loved this film and would need a temporary snuggle buddy for whilst I’m in Australia ๐Ÿท๐Ÿ˜‚

Arrived in Sydney around 5:30am and was met by my lovely aunt Nic, who drove me back to their loooooovely house, which I am the first of the British family to visit! Woke up my cousin who was beyond excited to see me, missed her lil crazy antics so much! My other cousin Zoe is on a school trip in Sydney and won’t be back until Thursday afternoon. Since I arrived so bloomin early in the day, it meant that I would have to stay awake for the entire day to avoid the feared jet lag!!! I will admit I did have a little nap around 11am which did me the world of good as I think I was starting to get a bit delirious ๐Ÿ˜ถ๐Ÿ˜‚ went for a drive around Mittagong, Moss Vale and had a lovely lunch in Bowral with my aunt at this awesome little cafe!

The Elephant Cafe, Bowral

Decided to have a chill afternoon after we picked Mia from school, watched Fantastic Mr. Fox and forgot how pretty weird it is, from the animation to the content ๐ŸฆŠ Although listening to George Clooney’s voice was pretty darn lovely ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿ˜ had a lush dinner of sweet potato and feta filo pizza thingsย and then somehow managed to stay awake until 9pm!! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ jet lag you will not conquer me!!!!
