So following off from my last post, we ended up mooching down the Chinatown “high street” and had a meal in one of the restaurants, I forgot to take a picture of my food but should have taken a video! Was this sizzling squid veg dish – super tasty but super bloody spitty oil!! 😤😂
Saturday started off with a chilled morning having breakfast in bed with Mia, then headed off into the city, starting with a spot of shopping as that’s what Mia wanted to do before she left on Sunday in the QVB (Queen Victoria Building) and found topshop was having a massing sale as they’re closing down, I have never got so many bloody bargains in my life!!! Not even from PRIMARK 😱😱 lunch may have been Eden my fabourite part, I try to eat something new and different to typical English toot everyday, so I had a vegetable and guacamole burrito, with fries, chipotle mayo and other spicy dippy things, so so tasty🤤😍
I swear I will come home looking like an absolute whale as after lunch on the way back to the apartment, we stopped by N2, this ice cream/gelato place that used liquid nitrogen to make these fancy flavour things! The syringe that was in mine then exploded all over my hair and jacket as it was broken 😠 Tasty nonetheless, Ferraro rocher flavour 😍😍 then after about 8km of walking over 5 hours, it called for a night in with take away noodles, I opted for hot n spicy tofu vegetable noodle soup!
SUNDAY was a semi early start as Mia woke up early as she had netball training festival BBQ thing back in Moss Vale so they left Nic, Zoe and myself in Sydney to do our Powerhouse Museum-ness, which when we got there found that there was a free museum weekend (result, that’s my favourite word/price!) so we decided to go to the Sherlock Holmes exhibition, which taught us about how Arthur Donan Coyle had created the character of Sherlock through the experiments at the Edinburgh hospital of medicine or medical experiments, then getting into the mind of Sherlock to then complete a puzzle that was in like an escape room! was so bloomin good, but it did take us a while and we MAY or may not have got some of the final answers wrong 🙄😂 but it was so so good! Oh so intereesting to learn about!
After failing abysmally at the Sherlock puzzle room, Zoe and I went off to go have a look at the ‘Love Is……’ exhibition which showed 50 outfits from over 200 years of Australian Wedding fashion evolving over the years! It had the first Australian wedding dress which was stunningly beautiful but the fashion would definitely not be a part of a circular fashion repeating itself… they also had letters, pictures, invitations, prints of books about marriage, and other items that showed all of the context behind the evolution of the Australian marriage traditions, alongside showing the diverse communities that exist in Australia! Super interesting, obviously my favourite part was the Tiffany & Co. jewellery history and the shiny jewellery 👑💎😍
Somehow, Zoe and I managed to work out the buses from Sydney to Clovelly to stay at Nic’s close friend Ninas house, which is BEAUTIFUL!! A balacony looking over towards Clovelly beach 😍😍 talk about sunset goals! Went for a quick dinner where I tried a pumpkin, red onion, feta pizza first time which was delicious!! The somehow, I probably needed it, slept for about 12 hours from 7pm -7:30am😱 Longest sleep EVER!!
That brings us to TODAY!! Nic was working today in the city so me and Zoe were left to our own devices, I had already decided that I wanted to do the Bondi to Bronte walk, since it was such a nice day – today was the day! Zoe didn’t quite understand how buses worked so we ended up in Coogee instead of Bondi 😤😂 then managed to get to Bondi, had a lush beach lunch and then off on the walk we went!
It only took us a little while so we then got the bus to Bondi Junction for another lil bit of shopping! Then off back to Moss Vale we went, with a sneaky lil maccas on the way home, not sure yet on which is better the UK or Australian 👅
